Get Smart About International Trade
Peter Allgeier
April 14, 21, 23,* 28, May 5 *(note double session in second week)
Mondays, 4-6PM
Wellfleet Preservation Hall
This course on international trade begins with an examination of the realities of trade and a review of the profile of U.S. trade. Moving forward, we examine the rules of international trade, the development of U.S. trade policy, and a review of Biden and Trump trade policies. Then we move forward to review trade with China and trade issues related to climate change. The final focus of our discussion is on the question: Is there a better way to address U.S. trade issues? Peter Allgeier’s experience, his having served as Deputy U.S. Trade Representative and U.S. Ambassador to the World Trade Organization, provides him with a solid footing to guide us in addressing this question, one that comes at an opportune time in modern trade history.
